Happy BLOGMAS week 3! The holiday season is here! If you're struggling to feel festive this year, here is a list of things that might be able to help you get in the spirit! This year was the biggest buzz kill, but there's no reason to end it that way! Houston is filled with many festive hot spots that'll have you feeling all the holiday cheer. I'm also going to list some of my favorite holiday movies. Consider this post your December checklist! Happy Holidays!

Top 5 Holiday Rom Com's

In no particular order, here are some of my favorite holiday rom com's to cozy up to this December! I tried to pick the least cringe movies, but at the end of the day every Christmas movie has a bit of cheesiness- and I kinda like that because it's truly an escape from reality. Not all of us live a Hallmark movie.

Love Actually (2003)

"Let's go get the shit kicked out of us by love"

A full cast, a beautiful movie. If you haven't seen this, PLEASE go watch it.

The Holiday (2006)

Two cities. Two love stories. Such a warm and light-hearted film.

This Christmas (2007)

I love this movie! My best friend recommended it to me. I love the intertwining stories of this one, big dysfunctional family. The cast is beautiful, and this movie is truly a classic.

Last Christmas (2019)

My faves Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding! This movie is super cute and a must watch!

Holidate (2020)

This has been one of my favorite movies this year on Netflix. I adore Emma Roberts, and I was expecting this to be super cheesy. Surprisingly, I found it hilarious, and it was refreshing to see a good holiday movie after so long.

Holiday Activities

These are just some ideas- they're pretty basic and straight forward. If you're in a rut and are feeling a bit bored then hopefully this inspires you!

Watch a cozy holiday movie, put on some warm Christmas pJ's and make some hot chocolate. It can be a date night, girl's night or even a solo night in.

Bake! Sugar cookies, hot chocolate bombs, brownies. Pair this with a hot cup of coffee and a good podcast (@alainasays is my personal fave) or book. You can even catch up on your favorite YouTuber's Vlogmas- which I thoroughly enjoy doing this time of year.

Make gingerbread houses! You can make this a competition with your friends/family and get everyone in the spirit!

Take a stroll- places like City Centre, River Oaks District, the Boardwalk at Towne Lake, Vintage Park and even Discovery Green are currently adorned with Christmas lights everywhere- you're sure to leave feeling incredibly festive!

A Harry Potter movie marathon- this is an annual tradition for my sister and I. I couldn't end the post without mentioning the amount of joy this brings us every year. TIS THE SZN!!

love, Sof
